Softcover. Condition: Sehr gut. 1. Auflage. Z : 20 x 28 cm, 120 pages, illustrated throughout - Roger Hiorns (born 1975, Birmingham, UK) is a leading artist of his generation. In 2009 he was nominated for the renowned Turner Prize. The exhibition at Kunsthaus CentrePasquArt, which will subsequently be presented at Galerie Rudolfinum, Prague, is his largest solo show to date. Roger Hiorn s installations and sculptures generate and fill gaps between disparate ideas: between construction and destruction, theology and technology, temporariness and performance, temporariness and permanence, authoritarian control and spontaneity. His work is shaped by a functional material presence, which however is always combined with a sense of imaginary, poetic or esoteric.

Hard cover. Condition: As New. Dust Jacket Condition: Very Good. First edition. Limited to 1500 copies; scarce thus. "Destined to be remembered as one of the truly worthwhile and significant moments of modern British art" (Jonathan Jones, The Guardian), In 2008 Roger Hiorns, commissioned by Artangel and the Jerwood Charitable Foundation, transformed an empty council flat in Southwark, London, into a sparkling blue environment of copper sulphate crystals. Seizure was created using 75,000 litres of liquid copper sulphate, which was pumped into the former council flat to create a strangely beautiful and somewhat menacing crystalline growth on the walls, floor, ceiling and bath of the abandoned dwelling. This book reflects on the experiences of the work, with an introductory section of notations, sketches, and research notes, and an extensive interview with the artist. Roger Hiorns (born 1975) is a British Contemporary artist who works in London. His primary media is sculpture and installation, using a wide variety of materials, including metals, wood and plastics. He also works in the media of video and photography.
