First Edition
Hardcover. Condition: Fine. Dust Jacket Condition: Fine. 1st Edition. 7 ¾ in. x 9 ¾ in. Tan cloth with gilt tilting on spine. 240 pp. 63 of which are text by Miller, remainder are photographs by Morath, most in b/w. In a paper wrapper with photographs showing Miller and Morath riding in a sleigh. The jacket is wrapped in mylar. The jacket is not price-clipped, and shows only very light wear at its corners and spine ends. Inscribed on the title page by both authors to William Targ (1907-1999) a well-known editor.
Hardcover. Condition: Near Fine. First edition. Small quarto. Slight soiling on the boards and a little foxing on the front fly, near fine in near fine "custom" handmade dustwrapper made by the cartoonist and satirist Robert Osborn with some modest toning and rubbing. Inscribed by both Arthur Miller and his photographer wife Inge Morath to Osborn and his wife: "To Bob and Elodie, From both of their friends Arthur and Inge. October 1969." Except for Morath's name and the date, the inscription all apears to be in Miller's hand. A pleasant association.
