Groundbreaking series about a young orphan girl who eventually comes to head her own motion picture company in the early decades of the 20th century, laying the groundwork for other children's series featuring strong female leads. This was Vol. #5 in the series of 30 books), in 204 pages + 8 pages of ads in rear, glossy frontispiece. Orig. published in 1913 this is a later printing of that First Edition, listing to self in front but to RF #22 in rear. Condition is just Fair" heavy rubbing to both covers, cloth is threadbare or tearing in places, bleached along bottom edge. Rear hinge cracked, but text block secure. Scattered soil & spotting, some writing from public library inside both covers, else unmarked. Basically a filler-reading copy. NO DJ. The interior is clean and tight, with only a previous owner?s name in ink on one of the blank front matter pages. 204 pgs. + ads.
