Hardcover. Condition: Good. First edition thus. Square 8vo, quarter leather, cloth, spine chipped and splitting at rear joint. For Subscribers only. Scarce. Goddard's identity is uncertain, but three works are particularly attributed to him. John S. Famer, in his Introduction states, "Goddard's satire was almost entirely levelled against women, and in not a few instances his pen was dipped in the bitterest invective and scorn." Farmer edited this from Dr. Furnivall's notes and materials for his 1878 edition - which never appeared. Goddard is thought likely to have been a member of the Inner Temple.
