Condition: Good. (16), 238p, (2) + (6), 784p, (79). Contemporary calf with gilt spine. An enlarged reprint of the 1610 edition edited by Melchior Goldastus (1576-1635). From the Library of German Scholar, Diplomat and Jurist Ezechiel Spanheim (1629-1710) with booklabel on the inside front boards. His library was sold at auction on February 1st, 1711. His principal work, De Praestantia et Usu Veterum Numismatum, was published in Rome 1664. He also contributed commentaries to the 1697 Callimachus and produced a French translation of Julian 1696. Additional bookplate of the Swedish noble family von Schwerin. Ebert #16496 considers it a critical edition. Gaselee #28, does not mentioned the expanded index. Schmeling & Stuckey #45. Paper browned throughout. Head and foot of spine worn as well as the corners of the boards. Emblem on the second title page removed and replaced with old paper repair.

Edizione non comune. 12mo (cm. 14,8), 6 cc.nn., 971(1) pp. Frontespizio in rosso e nero con graziosa marca tipografica. Fregi e piccoli capilettera xilografici.
