Only part of 1 brass clasp is present, binding has been duct tape repaired, foxed, a 1x3 and a 1x2 inch piece has been cut off margins of 2 adjoining leaves, with partial loss of text, pencil scribble on 1 page, otherwise tight, clean, relatively crisp and unmarked. Leather. Condition: Fair. No Jacket. Text in old German. Brown leather, corners and spine ends somewhat bumped and worn, front board loose but still attached by a small piece of the frontispiece, cover shows moderate rubbing, leather on spine is somewhat creased. One working clasp present, the other detached and laid within. Ex-college-library with a few neat indications, no card pocket. Other than the front board, binding is tight. Pages somewhat tanned and foxed and the first few pages look liquid stained, the only other marking I see is an extensive note on the first page. Packaged carefully for shipment with U. S. insurance and tracking. This book is oversized and will require extra postage for priority or international shipment.

Ownership name on the front free endpaper, dated 1825. Other names in pencil dated 1879 and 1882 on that page. Inside front cover has a bookplate with the name J. M. Rapp on it and there are 2 other names written on that page. The original/oldest name is Peter Holly. Cover scuffed and spine streaked with cracks from use. Pages toned but overall binding tight and contents complete and clean. A heavy book. Nicely illustrated.
