Two Original Typed Documents Signed by the author Leon Feuchtwanger regarding Samuel Goldwyn buying the movie rights to FeuchtwangerÕs novel Simone. Both documents are single sheets, 8 1/2Ó x 13Ó. The first is dated April 16, 1944 and states the terms of the sale between FeuchtwangerÕs publisher, Viking Press, and is signed by Feuchtwanger and Marshall Best, the then head editor of Viking and bears their blindstamp. The second is dated July 31, 1944, is signed by Feuchtwanger, and details the terms of sale between him and Samuel Goldwyn for the film rights to his novel Simone. Attached is a notarized copyright certificate indicating that Mr. Feuchtwanger is the author of Simone and, as such, is legally authorized to sell the rights to it.
