Green cloth with title stamped in black and a horse s head stamped in red. 310 pp. Illustrated with drawings by the author. The DJ is not price-clipped. It shows light dusting, a few small closed tears, and general wear to the spine ends and corners. A small bump is at the lower edge of the front panel. Inscribed and signed by the author on the ffep: "To Alice Lewis Sincerely. Will James III-'26." Beneath the inscription is a pen-and-ink drawing of a galloping horse, measuring approximately 3 in x 2 in. This copy is in an un-restored DJ which is in better condition than usually found. Early printings of this title signed are quite uncommon; inscribed and signed copies are even more uncommon; but an early copy signed, inscribed, and with an original drawing is quite rare.
