The signed first edition thus of this vibrant Limited Edition volume of the last poetic work of Spanish playwright and poet Frederico Garcia Lorca. This edition is translated by Eva Loewe and Noel Cobb, and signed by both to the colophon.Number twenty of one hundred and twenty six copies produced.With the original Spanish text and its English language translation on facing pages.With an illustrated frontispiece, and matching illustration to front board of slip case.First published in 1936, the collection was long thought to have been inspired by Lorca's passion for Rafael Rodríguez Rapún, a young actor and secretary of La Barraca. However new documents suggest that the actual inspiration was Juan Ramírez de Lucas, a 19-year-old with whom Lorca hoped to emigrate to Mexico.
