Condition: Near Fine. Dust Jacket Condition: Near Fine. First Edition Hard Cover/Dust Jacket. The Interviews collected in 'Spontaneous Mind' are indeed interviews of art and creativity. The book is in very near fine condition. It is in black boards with all corners square and no soiling or staining to the boards. At the extreme top of the spine there is a slight turning in towards the textblock but it is geometrically even and all material is present and not scratched. It is extremely minor. The dustjacket is also very near fine and if you look closely at the top of the spine panel there is a slight creasing that is virtually invisible and it does not seem to represent normal shelf-wear. There is no shelf-wear to the bottom of the spine panel. The front and back panels of the dustjacket are fine and unsoiled and the jacket is not price-clipped. The silver lettering on the spine of the book itself is bright and unfaded. The book is in beautiful shape. These interviews are chronologically arranged and in some cases previously unpublished. They were conducted throughout Allen Ginsberg's long career. Always an engaging and candid subject, Ginsberg considered the interview to be an Art form. It was also an opportunity to get his message across to many people, which as a student of Eastern Religions, he believed was his spiritual obligation. In these interviews, dating from the late 1950's to the mid-1990's Ginsberg speaks frankly about his life, his work, and the events of the time. A great modern poet, Ginsberg's poems will be important in the history of the Art form.
