Maroon Cloth. Condition: Very Good. First Edition. Type: Z 885pp. 1951. 8vo. sized. First edition. A very good, clean tight copy of a popular title with an interesting provenance. No jacket. Original publisher's burgundy cloth - gilt embossed to the spine. Upper edge dyed brown as it should be. This copy has a neat ink stamp to the tail of the half-title page and title page stating 'education room Culzean castle' so it once had a very prestigious home! No other library (or other) markings. No inscriptions. The fold-out map at the rear present. Light rubbing to the lower board edge corners with some loss of outer cloth. A couple of leaf corners that remained uncut after the manufacturing process have been neatly turned and don't really show. A very good, clean, tight and essentially bright copy.
