Synder's father opened a bank in Minneapolis in 1855 and led a volunter company in relief of the Dakota siege of Fort Ridgely in 1862. Synder's mother was Mary Ramsey Synder, daughter of Governor Alexander Ramsey. The newlyweds rented the house constructed by John Stevens in what was then St. Anthony, and which still stands on the north side of the Mississippi River in Minneapolis. Their son Fred married Susan Pillsbury, daughter of Governor Pillsbury. A most interesting and important book in Minneapolis history. This copy in nearly perfect condition.
