Hard Back. First Edition. Hard Back First Edition. Handsomely bound in rich green cloth with small gilt pictorial to the front and gilt titles to the spine. The cloth is generally in a good clean condition despite the odd spot of discolouration. The corners are lightly bumped with minor bumping to the top and base of the front board. Internally the binding is still fairly tight despite the front board partly detached from the contents. Previous owners' inscription in green to the front paste down and to the top of chapter one. Pages otherwise are clean throughout, illustrated with the occasional photographic plate. pp. 336. Overall a good copy.nbsp; book.

The map is torn but complete. Publishers printed pictorial wrappers foxed with small red stain on rear wrapper. Bound in publishers red cloth binder into which it is only loosely inserted ( so that it can be hung up). The red cloth binder is exactly the same as the printed wrappers, the heavy gilt decoration is tarnished and lightly rubbed with one small frayed area at the top of spine. Generally very good. Lots of the illustrated adverts are printed on pink paper. Unusual in publishers cloth binder. 512 p. Book.

Very light marking to vellum. Hinges are starting slightly, particularly to the rear. But firm. Recto of rear endpaper very age-toned. Internally, generally firmly bound. Some loosening towards centre pages. Pages are bright and clean with occasional spotting. Some pages unopened, towards the rear. Contents page has come loose. Very Good. book.
