First UK edition. Very presentable, signed first UK edition of this iconic children's fantasy from Juster, published the year prior in the US. Sales were slow for the book at first, with stiff competition fromJames and the Giant Peachby Roald Dahl andThe Bronze Bow byElizabeth George Speare published in the same year. However, the book caught on after a few positive reviews were published inThe New Yorker, The New York Times, and the following year in the UK,The Times Literary Supplement.Copies in nice condition signed by both the author and artist are uncommon. 8vo, 255, [1]pp. Map endpapers and illustrations throughout by Jules Feiffer. Signed by Juster and Feiffer on the title page. Publisher's blue paper over boards, spine stamped in silver in illustrated jacket. Some pushing at spine ends, lightly bumped upper corner, bit of foxing to page block else nearly fine in price-clipped jacket, underside a bit foxed. Some light use at spine ends, rear panel toned with a couple small tears along upper edge. Very good.

There, he acquires two faithful companions and goes on a quest to restore to the kingdom its exiled princesses named Rhyme and Reason from the Castle in the Air. Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Very Good. First Edition. 1961 Epstein & Carroll FIRST EDITION ( distributed by Random House) **SIGNED** directly on the title page by both JUSTER & FEIFFER. A solid copy in VG+/G condition. The deep blue boards with white lettering and illustrations have the merest of wear at the corners and spine ends. Inside the book there is only a very faint inscription at the top of the map page. The unclipped DJ shows a price of $ 3.95 crossed out and penned $ 3.19. I think this is a second state DJ with 5 brief reviews on the rear cover. There is some loss of color along the right edge of the front, some dirt on the rear and chips of color loss but overall a GOOD bright DJ! EXCEEDNGLY RARE WITH BOTH SIGNATURES! **BONUS** Also receive the very charming First Edition of the Dot and the Line 1963 Random House in VG/VG condition. Signed by Author(s). Book.
