Octavo, black cloth (hardcover), gilt letters, 254 pp. Very Good, in a Very Good, mylar protected dust jacket. From dust jacket: Mickey Schwerner, James Chaney, Andy Goodman: Three lives that might have gone unnoticed have found their tragic place in history -- victims of a community-approved murder. What were the events that brought these three to Philadelphia, Mississippi, on the night of June 21, 1964? What actually happened when they met the men who were to become their killers? Three Lives for Mississippi is the first and only complete account of this story told in personal and dramatic terms. You will come to know these boys, understand the feelings and convictions that caught them up in the civil rights movement. You will meet their murderers, see the kind of men who would kill such boys as these. And you will learn the circumstances that led inexorably to murder. Three Lives for Mississippi is not a political or sociological study. Not a collection of articles or a diary or anything of that sort. It is a a story of people brought fatefully together in a tragic encounter. A dramatic and forthright story that will stand as one of the great documentaries of our time. United States History, U. S. History, Americana, American History, American Biography, Hate Crime, True Crime. yslic.
