Tan cloth boards with black lettering on cover and spine. Illustration of a man with a shovel and a cowboy hat in brown and black on cover. Small tear to tail of spine; corners are bumped; tiny dent to cover. Yellow illustrated dust jacket with black lettering on cover and spine. Jacket is not price clipped and is in fair condition only. Significant chipping and tearing to edges; spine is toned; paper is worn thin in many places with a few small holes on spine. Tight binding and clean interior. Minor foxing to edges of text block. Includes four plates with black-and-white illustrations by H.A. Burne. This adventure novel set in northwestern Mexico follows an American boy and the wounded man he meets while hunting deer.
