Book First Edition Signed
Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. Dust Jacket Condition: Poor. First Edition. Signed By Maria Von Trapp, who died in 1987 and Father Franz Wasner, who was their musical director and much more and died in 1992. (Hard to believe Maria Von Trapp died 36 years ago!) Vintage Large Hardcover Book is in Good condition wit the inside text being in Very Good condition. Your can tell this is a First Edition, as it was inscribed ("To My beloved wife Christmas 1950") which was the first year this book was published and was now 73 years ago! One the same blank first end page are the signatures of Maria and Franz Wasner. Also on the page is a small card taped in one corner that appears to have handwritten "Away in a manager and many others all suitable as lullabys for an adorable mother and her child" signed "John". What the book itself is only showing some aging with some darkening inside the front and back cover and some wear to the outside corners and edges. I did not find any other writings or markings in the book with the exception of the aforementioned first end page. The Dust Jacket is in Poor condition missing the front flap and the top right hand corner area of the front cover. The back flap is present. Looks like one piece of clear tape on the inside of the Dust Jacket. Hard to find the Signed Hardback with both Maria and Franz. Great Collectible that would make a wonderful gift!. Signed.
