Reprint Edition. Hardbound small 8vo (7.75 inches tall) 312 pages. Illustrated endpapers. Description: The Grosset and Dunlap reprints of Terhune's dog stories were issued in two different formats. This listing is for a book from the earlier issue which was done in cloth with the head of a collie blind stamped on the front cover. The endpapers feature two dogs on the left hand page with a stream or road separating them from a single 'windswept' collie on the right hand side. The later issue featured dust jacket art by noted wildlife artist Bob Kuhn with the endpaper scene reproduced (in black and white) from one his paintings. Those bindings were either solid color cloth or 'tweed' with a vignette of two collies running. . Note that the only printed date is the 1924 copyright; this circa early 1940s; both the jacket flap and the title page have wartime compliance statements. ''Treve was a golden-tawny collie on a large sheep ranch who risked his life to protect the sheep from rustlers and wolves.'' This is the seventh book in the Sunnybank series. BINDING/CONDITION: turquoise cloth with blind stamped collie head; the top edge tint is dark blue; a Very Good book, with a Good dust jacket. ISBN: B0095VUHTY.
