In the letter, Van writes about our work on the Haig-Brown bibliography and the never-ending research minutiae associated with it; he also enclosed his poem "When Tyeemen Met with the Tide, a homage to the fishermen staying at the Spit Camp in the early 1930s." Roderick Haig-Brown was an honorary member of the club, and he also guided for it briefly in the 1930s. The book is bound in full burgundy leather with gilt titles.
