Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. First Edition. This book is hard-bound in brown paper covered boards, with brown, black, blue, and red stamping to the upper cover, and black, brown, and red stamping to the spine, with a wrap around paper sleve on the lower cover. The covers show some light bumping to the corners. The binding is solid. The contents are bright and clean. This book is signed by Dave Eggers and Valentino Achak Deng, on the title-page. From the collection of Cuthbert Christian Thambimuttu (1945-2019) of Columbus, Ohio - known to many of his bookseller, author, and illustrator friends as "Tubby." He was persistent in the pursuit of autographed books by the writers and artists he admired, including Gorey, Sendak, Heaney, Byatt, Morrison, Updike and many more. Joseph Heller once wrote to Tubby in response to one more "please sign and return" request: "This is turning out to be a hell of a lot of work!" All signed books unconditionally guaranteed to be authentic. Many of the books are inscribed to both Cuthbert and his great friend of more than two decades Antonia Gale Moss.

Paperback. Condition: Near Fine. Illustrated by Rachell Sumpter (illustrator). First Edition; First Printing. Cover Art; 8vo 8" - 9" tall; 475 pages; 2006 McSweeney's Books, San Francisco. Advance reading copy. Snugly bound in slick pictorial wraps, with cover illustration by Rachell Sumpter unique to this very scarce Advance 1st printing. Tight clean copy feels and appears unread; just superficial curl to cover at front edge. Rear cover blurbs by Khaled Hosseini, Philip Gourevitch and John Prendergast. Very scarce advance edition with a unique cover design, probably only issued to a small number of reviewers and highly placed publisher sales reps. NF thus.
