Translated from the Russian by Andrew Bromfield. Boris Akunin is the pen name of Grigori Chkhartishvili, and is best known for his detective and historical fiction. He wrote his Erast Fandorin series, about a 19th century Russian detective. Some of his other novels in this series include 'The Turkish Gambit', 'He Lover of Death', and 'The Black City'. In a blue cloth binding with original unclipped dustwrapper. Externally, smart. Some light bumping to the head and tail of the spine and to the extremities. Dustwrapper is smart, with just a couple of marks and a label to the front. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright, though with some scattered spotting. Very Good Indeed. book.

There are no creases to the spine or the covers and there are no dog-eared pages. The pages and closed page edges are clean and Persil white. No dog-eared pages. The binding is tight and without cracked hinges. Given the fragility of proof copies, this is in lovely condition. Appears unread. Flat SIGNED by the author to the title page. A very nice copy.
