Hardcover. Condition: Near Fine. Dust Jacket Condition: Fine. First edition. Edited with an Introduction by Pearl Amelia McHaney. Foxing on the page edges, thus near fine in fine dust jacket. Briefly Inscribed by Welty in a slightly infirm hand. Laid into the book is a letter to the recipient from a third party sending the book and noting: "I am enclosing Eudora Welty's new collection of book reviews. She doesn't autograph anymore because of her severe arthritis and age (85). She is very frail, but fortunately when I explained how gracious and dear to us you are, she agreed to sign." As noted, we could find no signed copies available in the trade at the time this was catalogued.
