In-8° (190 x 131 mm) de vi pp. - 474 pp., basane chagrinée aubergine, dos à 5 faux-nerfs orné à froid, plaque à froid sur les plats avec armes dorées au centre sur le plat supérieur et à froid sur le plat inférieur, tranches rouges (reliure de l'époque). Un livre de prix au chiffre de la reine Victoria. Livre de prix orné sur les plats d'un plaque "à la fanfare" avec au sein du médaillon central le chiffre couronné de la reine Victoria. Cette représentation, aux attributs stylisées que sont la rose, le trèfle et le chardon, est peu courante. On la retrouve sculptée sur la porte en bois d'un des offices gouvernementaux britanniques à Whitehall. PROVENANCE : "DEPARTMENT OF SCIENCE AND ART / REWARD", Tampon à sec sur le titre. Livre de prix du département des sciences et des arts de ? Frederick William Fairholt (1814-1866), antiquaire et graveur sur bois anglais, publia son dictionnaire en 1854.
