About this Item
First Edition. Based on the author's research into Druid temples on her native British island of Jersey. This work includes the perhaps more influential poem "The Dying Druid" by R.A. Davenport: ". . . this little poem . . . published some years ago in a periodical work." A relatively obscure then, as now, Ainsworth's Magazine's reviewer writes "the versification is melodious, and the thoughts with which the poem abounds are full of grace and purity." Small 8vo. xi, [1]-156pp. Black, Druids and Druidism, pg. 10. Hutton, Blood & Mistletoe: The History of the Druids in Britain. Very good in the original wavy-grain textured green cloth without no spine label and a small patch of fading at the head of the upper cover. Seller Inventory # 217
