About this Item
A very good first edition, first impression, first printing of Wystan Hugh Auden¿s COLLECTED SHORTER POEMS 1927 - 1957 in hardback cloth covers, published in Great Britain by Faber and Faber in 1966. This book has blue cloth covered boards, titles in gold on the spine with white end papers. The 351 pages themselves are in fine condition apart from some fading, a small mark on the inside front cover and one or two small spots on the book¿s front and top edges. The book cover is worn at the top and bottom of the spine. The book also shows some shelf wear along the bottom cover. The copyright page shows the book first published in 1966 with copyright W H Auden 1966 and is the first edition. The book has no dust jacket. Auden won the Pulitzer Prize for Poetry in 1948. The book contains over 300 poems including Funeral Blues from Twelve Songs which featured memorable in the 1994 Film Four Weddings and a Funeral. Auden died in 1973. Several photos of this book are available on my AbeBooks website. Clear removable archival film protects the book cover. Seller Inventory # 000198
