About this Item

When the Nazis took power of Germany in January 1933, Heiden escaped the country, and spent the rest of his life living abroad. In 1937, his German citizenship was withdrawn. This biography is incredibly unique, being a critical view of Hitler during his hold on the power of Germany, three years after he was elected Chancellor. Critical works of Hitler were rare at this time, before the outbreak of the Second World War, and before his views were widely known.Translated into English.Volume I only, with a second volume being translated into English the following year.
