A collection of 97 colour woodblock-printed illustrations for handicraft designs created by Tsuda Seifu, a painter, calligrapher, poet and renaissance man from Kyoto, when he was only twenty years old. A set of books in which Japanese traditional patterns are vividly modernised using beautiful woodblock printing. Original wrappers, lightly soiled, with minor damage to corners. Ex-ownership stamps to upper pastedowns of both volumes. General discolouration due to age. Foxing to colophon of volume 2. Illustrations in nice condition.
