In internet reviews, Kingston is rebuked for stating "eight knots an hour", when a knot is a sea mile per hour, making Kingston's reference to time redundant. In another, the comment is made that Kingston referred offhand to the prevalence of illegitimacy in this travelogue through northern Portugal.
