Volume, measuring approximately 8.25" x 11", is bound in white cloth, with stamped gilt lettering to spine and emblem in gold stamped on front cover. Book is in fine condition, with firm binding. Previous owner's name is discreetly writtern in lower half of title page. Book is otherwise clean and bright interior. Text appears in double columns. Profusely illustrated with a frontispiece portrait and numerous textual illustrations. Dust jacket displays wear at edges. Loss is visible at top of spine panel, in upper inside corner of rear panel and at lower outside corner of front panel/lower outside corner of front flap. Jacket is now preserved in mylar cover. 387 pages. On Matthaus Daniel Poppelmann (1662-1736), a German architect of the Baroque and Rococo periods. He was in the service of Elector Augustus the Strong of Saxony and shaped the Dresden Baroque style. His most famous work is the Dresden Zwinger, a palatial complex with gardens.
