London - 1818. xvi + 420pp plus 4 maps of which 3 are linen backed - 11" x 8.75". 18 engraved plates, 8 are colored, and there are 18 additional smaller engravings throughout the book. All pages are in good condition, some have light foxing and some with browning. This first edition includes the errata slip, which has been re-backed using the original gilt decorated spine - all 3 edges are marbled. Overall a very nice copy of this interesting journey to China.
