Quinto was a bookselling phenomenon on Charing Cross Road in London. The shop was established in the mid-1980?s, taking over from E. Joseph, one of the first booksellers in the street, and became famous for the massive queues outside when they had their monthly ?changeover?.
In 2008 Quinto merged with antiquarian booksellers Francis Edwards, a London business since 1855, and continued a few doors down the road on 72 Charing Cross Road.
In March 2020 the decision was made not to renew the lease on Charing Cross Road. Francis Edwards still trades at the Old Cinema in Hay-on-Wye. Quinto only sells online for the time being and in this way hopes to continue a long tradition of selling quality second hand and antiquarian books, drawing on decades of experience at the heart of the London book trade.
