H/B 85 pages, condition is very good, a signed inscription by the author dated 1965. These verses are of the soldier, for the soldier, and by a soldier. The writing of these verses commenced in 1950 when the author was stationed in Hong Kong - and the collection grew by additions penned at sea, on freighters, in troop-ships, on the back of a beer-mat in a Dundee bar, and once during a train journey. They are mainly of people te author has met, places he has seen and situations in which he has been involved. They are of saints and sinners, valiants and vagabonds . his "polyglot, happy-go-lucky, khaki-clad" family, who have been at times closer to him than his own family. Seller Inventory # 062713
