Brown cloth with impressed pattern, short title in gold letters on front, and start of long title in gilt on spine with Vol.1. Corners bumped, wear top and bottom of spine, but generally tight copy. Formerly in the library of the Yorkshire Archaeological Society, the only trace is a bookplate inside the front cover. Title page notes as First of two volumes, and a flyer bound in at the start advertises both, but the second was not published - a note on the flyer in pencil dated 1887 notes 'The second volume was left in manuscript by the late Mr Duke but is not yet published'. Diagrams including fold out in good condition. Pages mostly uncut. Seller Inventory # 20150041
