First Impression, a review copy, with embossed "Review Copy" lozenge at upper title page. Octavo (20.5cm); bluish-black cloth, with titles stamped in gilt on spine and front cover; dustjacket; [10],11-118,[2]pp. Spine ends nudged, light wear to lower corner tips, with some mild rippling to cloth; contents fresh; Near Fine. In the original dustjacket, priced 6/- net at lower spine, and measuring half a centimeter shorter than the book (as with all copies we have seen); gently spine-sunned, lightly edgeworn, with a few tiny nicks and tears at spine ends; Near Fine. A title for which there was no American counterpart, containing five essays written during World War I, all of which were previously published in the Fortnightly Review, New York Times, New York World, The Book of France, and The Book of the Homeless.
