About this Item
Octavo (8 1/4 x 5 1/2 inches; 215 x140 mm), 350 pages, red top stain, in light gray cloth, titles in red to spine, in an unclipped, illustrated dust jacket. A young man named Andrew discovers the books don't balance at city hall. And his hero, the ghostly General Andrew Jackson, tries to help him out, especially since city officials try to cover up their graft by pinning the crime on young Andrew. In their discussions, the two Andrews discuss American domestic and foreign policy. A satirical novel by Dalton Trumbo that's listed in Walter Rideout's "The Radical Novel in the United States 1900-1954." CONDITION: Rubbing and soiling to boards and top edge, some toning to the page edges, a few scattered stains and a couple of small tears, not affecting any text. The dust jacket is rubbed, soiled and has some nicks and closed tears. The flaps are trimmed but the $2.50 price remains intact. About Very Good in a similar dust jacket. Seller Inventory # 907
