First edition, in the publisher's original red cloth binding, with the original, unclipped dust wrapper. Written by British novelist, scriptwriter and journalist, James Lansdale Hodson, who was also a war correspondent during the First and Second World Wars. His novel 'Return to the Wood' was adapted into a play by John Wilson and subsequently into a film, entitled 'King & Country' (1964), starring Dirk Bogarde.Similarly to Hodson's previous work, this novel surround the First and Second World Wars and the time in between.
