I: 76 pp. II: 90, (2 index) pp. Full brown morocco binding with ornate gilt stamped decoration to boards and spine, gilt lettering and four raised bands to spines, gilt dentelles, and all edges gilt. Both volumes in very good uniform condition, with slight marking and some wear at edges but clean boards and bright gilding. With 32 steel engraved plates and an engraved title page in volume 1 and 39 b&w plates and an engraved title page; all plates present. Internally clean and bright, with minor foxing. Small crease to title page of volume I. Occasional splitting where pp. meet plates, but bindings firm. Pictorial travelogue detailing the natural and architectural beauties of Italy, the Eastern Mediterranean, Constantinople, and the Rhine basin, with illlustrations of notable buildings and vistas by notable engravers, and commentaries on these sites by G.N.
