204 pages; orange paper wrapper (5 x 7 3/8 inch). Sydney Howard (1891-1939) was a California playwright and screenwriter who won the Pulitzer Prize for Drama in 1925 for 'They Knew What They Wanted' and a Academy Award for Adapted Screenplay in 1940 (posthumous) for 'Gone With the Wind'. He wrote over seventy plays. The play published here, a successful play on Broadway, is a drama about a mother who is pathologically close to her sons and works to undermine their romances.
