Stan Laurel, el mitico Flaco de la pareja del Gordo y el Flaco, ya viejo y acabado, acude a Phillipe Marlowe (detective creado por Raymond Chandler), para que averigüe por que ya nadie lo contrata. Pasado cierto tiempo, Laurel muere. Un Osvaldo Soriano convertido en personaje de ficcion se encuentra a Marlowe frente a la tumba del comico. A partir de este encuentro tendra lugar la mas disparatada y tragicomica serie de hechos, que combina llanto y risa, actores y personajes, realidad y ficcion.
