First edition of these remarkably scarce catalogue and service manuals for the very popular Wurlitzer 1400 & 1450 Jukebox models, upgraded and designed to overtake the growing popularity of the new Seeburg Jukeboxes which could play 100 songs on 50 records. Both Wurlitzer models could play 78, 45, and 33 1/3 speed vinyl records, and could interchange between the different formats within 30 seconds, and play 48 different tunes on 24 records. These Mid-Century examples of musical Americana featured iridescent lights, plexiglass record changer compartment drawing the attention of teenagers and young people flocking across the country to restaurants, diners, and soda fountains for their latest rock 'n' roll fix. The 1400 was built with a durable walnut woodcabinet, Zenith Cobra Pick-ups, and Dynatone sound system, while the 1450 was differentiated by a "Textileather" vinyl covering including blue, beige, and burgundy textured vinyl fabrics. This catalogue also advertises Model 4851 wall box units for making selections remotely, Model 5110 deluxe speakers, and even a recessed wall or ceiling speaker. The service manual encompasses not only specifications and description with wiring diagrams, but also how to properly install the unit, make adjustments, maintain the Jukebox properly, and exploded view parts catalogue. No copies located in Worldcat of either piece; See: Kerry Segrave, Jukeboxes: An American Social History; Wurlitzer, Jukebox History (2020). Seller Inventory # 57155
