About this Item
Circa 1896-1899. Leather covers somewhat worn: scuffed and faded, along with some distortion. Map bright with only light wear: faint staining on the reverse (not obvious on the map face); no holes; the odd faint mark to the map face. Map mounted in sections with main cycling roads coloured in brown. Dense but clear printing. Ornate border with Newnes' adverts included. Undated but one of the adverts is for the 'Oracle Encyclopedia' which was published 1895-6. So the date of this map must be within a few years of this. Other details include lighthouses and light vessels, railways, rivers and some geographical features. Sheet size when open: 70cm by 87cm approx. More details available on request. (non26lwbart).
