Beautiful railroad map put out by Asher & Adams in theirNew Statistical & Topographical Atlas of the United Sates in 1872. It is difficult to overlook the fact that this was an atlas for railroads. Within the visual hierarchy of each map is a highlighted accounting for the important maps of the eighth decade of the 19th century. This particular map is of great importance for the illustration of the railroad industries convergence on the ports of Missouri River commercial systems. The Area of Council bluffs and Omaha has an abundance of railroads connecting to the Union Pacific Railroad.The map was produced 3 years after the trans-continental connection was made. This map is a beautiful cartographic artifact. The finely detailed map has the railroad names included in the layout. Seller Inventory # 179
