Original Black & White Print. 17.5 x 12.5 cm. VG.Biography: Marianne Spier-Donati (1930 - 2023) had several lives. After her parents were arrested on the Côte d'Azur in 1942, then deported to Auschwitz, Marianne Spier was rescued, taken in and adopted with her brother by Angelo Donati. An Italian-born businessman and diplomat, Angelo Donati played a major role throughout the Italian occupation zone in France from late 1942 onwards. Marianne Spier Donati's childhood was recounted by her friend Olga Tarcali in a book published in 2000. Curious and open to the world, Marianne Spier-Donati later traveled the world photographing the countries she visited. Seller Inventory # 68-5749
