Collection of five real photo postcards, published circa 1910, Flasher, North Dakota. None of the cards are postally used; minor edge wear and soiling with a creased corner on the bird's-eye view card. Versos are blank save for several numbers written in pencil on three of the cards. Flasher, North Dakota was founded in 1902; their post office was established in 1903. Also, in 1903 the Flasher Hustler Newspaper was founded. The Northern Pacific Railway reached Flasher in 1910 which led to a booming community. These five rare real photo postcards date to circa 1910 after the completion of the rail line to town. One card possibly is from the celebration of the Northern Pacific reaching the community, showing a decorated steam engine and large gathered crowd at the new depot. Identified businesses include the Elgin Cafe, R.H. Neely Attorney, Flasher Land & Loan Co., Farmers Elevator Company and the Occident Elevator Co. Finally, we have an outstanding view of the Flasher Hustler Newspaper Office with two gentlemen standing in front. The AZO Postcard stamp box with four upward triangles dates the set from 1904-1918.
