His contributions to the law as a jurist were important to his court and to his country. His reputation as a staunch champion of the need for implementing the Supreme Court's decision in Brown v. Board of Education is well known. He and his colleagues on the Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit were instrumental in seeing that the Court's mandate was carried out during a very difficult time. By his work, Judge Wisdom exemplified the best traditions of an independent judiciary. Sincerely, William H, Rehnquist". Normal mailing folds, otherwise in fine condition.
