81p., inscribed and signed by Beecher dated 1963, frontispiece, first trade edition, photo-offset reproduction of the original limited edition in brown cloth boards, paper title labels front and spine, in very good condition. Protest poetry from a descendant of the Abolitionist family which produced Henry Ward Beecher. The poet worked in the steel mills of Alabama (where he began writing poetry) and covered the Southern Civil Rights Movement for Ramparts. Some stereotype black dialect used, poetry covers labor issues, civil rights issues etc. Seller Inventory # 17264
