Four volumes. Reprints. The first four Mary Poppins books, consisting of Mary Poppins, Mary Poppins Comes Back, Mary Poppins Opens the Door and Mary Poppins in the Park. Four volumes, each signed by P. L. Travers on the title page. Bound in publisher's original cloth, Near Fine with some mottling to cloth and foxing to textblock edges, offsetting to endsheets. In Near Fine price-clipped dust jackets, with light edge wear; longish, meandering tear to the foot of the spine of Mary Poppins in the Park, and light staining to the rear panel of Mary Poppins Opens the Door. A wonderful and uniform set of the first four Mary Poppins books, whose whimsical adventures were chronicled in a total of eight books published between 1934 and 1988. Travers' fictional nanny was blown by an East wind into the Banks' household to care for their children, and served as the basis for the 1964 Disney musical film. Seller Inventory # 140941849
