10 Years of Remembering Wildlife celebrates a decade of the fundraising book series, Remembering Wildlife, which has so far donated more than £1.28m GBP / $1.66m USD to conservation causes. This special anniversary edition has a special focus on the world’s most trafficked mammal, the pangolin.
The elusive and shy pangolin is one of the least-known animals on Earth and yet it also holds the dubious moniker of being the most trafficked. Poached for its scales and meat, more than one million have been taken from the wild in the past decade alone. Having evolved when threatened to curl up tightly into a ball, this is no defence against poachers and all eight species are now either endangered or critically endangered.

Pangolins are believed to be one of the oldest mammal groups on Earth, dating back some 80 million years to prehistoric times. And yet, in the comparatively mere 200,000 years that humans have been on Earth, we have managed to hunt them almost to oblivion. They desperately need our help.

With this book, we aim to shine a spotlight on their secretive world with the hope that people want to save what they know and love. Despite how rare images of them are, we’ve assembled beautiful photographs of both ground and tree-climbing species across Africa and Asia.

And as this is notably the 10th book in the Remembering Wildlife series, we are also taking the opportunity to share and celebrate some of the best images from the last decade. As a collection, the book stands as one of the most beautiful tributes to wildlife the world has ever seen, illustrating just what we might end up only remembering in picture books, without concerted action.

10 Years of Remembering Wildlife won Silver in the Nature category at the 2026 Independent Publisher Book Awards (IPPY Awards).

About the Author: Margot Raggett MBE is a British wildlife photographer, conservationist, and the founder of Remembering Wildlife. In 2014, while on safari in Northern Kenya, she witnessed a poached elephant – an experience that changed her life and set her on a mission to make a tangible difference for endangered species.

Determined to take action, Margot asked fellow photographers to contribute images to a fundraising book. The response was overwhelming and unanimous – and Remembering Elephants, the first in what would become a landmark series, was born.

Margot was awarded an MBE (Member of the Order of the British Empire) on the King's Birthday Honours list in 2024 for services to wildlife conservation. She has united the global wildlife photography community, with over 300 photographers donating images across the series.
