100 Years of Li & Fung : Rise From Family Business to Multinational

This book illustrates the rise and success of one of the oldest Chinese trading companies in Hong Kong. Through generations of entrepreneurship, perserverance, and ingenuity, coupled with Chinese values and modern management practices, it has evolved into a leading global supply chain management multinational, employing over 25,000 employees worldwide, and achieving revenues exceeding US$8 billion (in 2005). Li & Fung Group's businesses include export trading, retailing (e.g., Circle K, Toy "R" Us, and Branded Lifestyle), and integrated distribution services (e.g., manufacturing, logistics, and marketing).

Feng Bang-yan is the dean of College of Economics, Jinan University, Guangzhou, China. He is also the director of the university's Institute on Hong Kong/Macau Economy. Professor Feng has researched and published extensively on Hong Kong's economy, business groups and economic history. His major works include "British Conglomerates in Hong Kong 1841-1996", "Chinese Conglomerates in Hong Kong 1841-1991", "A Treatise on Macau", "Hong Kong's Property Sector in the Past Century", and "Hong Kong's Financial Sector in the Past Century". He has also published over 100 articles in various academic journals.
