Reviews
Grade 4-8These series entries will fly off the shelves where Internet books are in demand. Web Site focuses not only on the hows but also on the whys, whens, and wheres of creating Web pages. It explains how to create a Web site with a text editor, but the aesthetic and content advice hold true no matter what program is being used. It is more detailed and thorough than Christopher Lamptons Home Page (Watts, 1997). Internet delivers exactly what it claims. Each double-page spread focuses on activities surrounding a theme, such as space, sports, music, games, movies, or weather. While there are several other books of thematic Web sites for kids, this one provides a sampling of a wide variety of topics. Both books have safety and security information, as well as the splashy, full-color pictures and chunked text that kids have grown to love.Yapha Nussbaum Mason, Brentwood Lower School, Los Angeles
